spidra | RIP Rory Root 1958

My first job in the Bay Area, and the happiest job experience I've yet had, was working for Comic Relief in Berkeley. I just got the news today that my old boss Rory Root has died. It hasn't been long, but already if you Google, you will find the tributes pouring in. And they're deserved. While I'm sad that Rory has passed away at such a young age, I think he'd be touched to see not only the encomiums that laud him for his contributions to comics retailing and supporting fledgling comic creatives, but especially happy to see that he was considered a good person and a good friend.
